John Warner, father of Eugene , was for many years a department superintendent of a cotton mill.

Eugene Warner was educated at Brown University and studied law in Providence in the office of James Parsons and Joseph Spink.

He was admitted to the Khode Island bar in 1877 and has since practiced his profession in Providence.

Mr Warner was a member of the Ehode Island Legislature in 1877.

In 1878 he was elected Clerk of the State Senate; in 1880 he was made Secretary of the Eepublican State Central Committee; and in 1886 he was chosen Justice of the Fourth District Court of Ehode Island.
